Strep, Teeth, and Ear infections....

Wow - what a day/night we had yesterday! It started out yesterday morning. Landon was complaining his "neck" hurt every time he swallowed, and that his tummy hurt. He was wrapped under three blankets and still shivering. When HE told ME that he just wanted to go sit down and relax, I knew someone had Strep. Usually it's me telling him to go take a break for a minute. The kid literally runs from sun-up to sun-down. Then there's Colton, didn't want to crawl, didn't want to play, didn't want to EAT. Now, we all know how much Colton LOVES his food - like his mama.
Chris was getting ready to report back to Minot. He was planning on leaving around four-ish in the afternoon. Well, being the good dad that he is, he couldn't leave his sick kids. He ended up staying and helping out until seven at night. Poor guy didn't make it back to Minot until after Midnight. Luckily, him and Colton had a good afternoon nap. Thank you again Chris for your help!
Last night was a little rough. I finally got the baby to sleep a little after midnight. Then about fifteen minutes later,  Landon came into the room with a 102 fever. Got Landon some medicine and then Colton woke back up. Poor Colton was crying almost all night. Needless to say, I got a whole hour of sleep last night.
This morning we went to the clinic. Both boys have strep, and Colton has a double ear infection! Poor babies. We have been pretty lucky this year. In fact- the last sickness we had was almost a year ago to the day. I am doing my best at making sure the boys are happy, hydrated, and comfortable. Praying mom can get at least a few hours of sleep in tonight :)

Thirty Candles...

WOW -  I can't believe it has been over a month already since my last post! Things have been crazy around here! I am devoting tonight's post to the old man who turned thirty tonight. We finally got him back from that demanding job, yesterday evening. Thankfully, these kids keep me running all day, when I blink the day is over. Chris thought he would try his hand at smoking on the grill. We currently have TWO racks of ribs on the grill. So far, they smell delicious!  I was kind of slacking with the camera today. All I was able to get were a couple pictures of the boys with the cake.

I was worried the house would burn down...

.....here's to a wonderful fiancee and an amazing dad. I can't wait to spend many many more of your birthday's with you! We love you and appreciate all you do!

Blueberries

Tonight, the boys enjoyed some frozen blueberries! Personally, I can't do them frozen, but they seem to love them. Colton got a "mesh feeder" for Christmas, so he can eat "real" food without choking. I'm sure the cold feels good on his toofers, too.
Not much is new here, just trying to get back into the swing of things since Chris left. Chris is doing good. Ready to come back home again. Things are a little slow out there right now, he's worked a total of four hours in four days - must be rough! Kids are doing great, Colton is almost crawling - SCARY! I'm not ready for him to be old enough to be crawling around! Landon is doing great, also. He was proud to be the "line leader" the other day at school, as they were walking out to the buses. I'm also doing well, my diet - not so much. Still struggling to eat less and work out more! Taking it day-by-day, knowing I will eventually get there.

......Kids are blue from head to toe- looks like it's going to be bath night in this house.......

Frosty the Snowman

Over the weekend we got quite a bit of snow (finally), and decided to get out of the house for a bit yesterday, to make a snowman. Well, I should say the boys went outside to make a snowman, I took advantage of them being out of the house and did some cleaning....and maybe an episode (or two) of Dr. Phil  :)  Sadly, for "Frosty" today was almost fifty degrees, so, he has pretty much melted.

Not much is new here, just enjoying our final days with our Daddy, before he heads back out to Minot on Sunday. It's amazing how fast our twelve days with him go by!

This one turned out a little blurry, but I just love Chris' smile in it :)

....please excuse the orange flashlight, it was the closest thing I could find to a carrot

Bringing in 2012

I have so much to be thankful for in 2011. We welcomed our happy/healthy- baby boy, got engaged, Chris got a great job - that allows me to stay home with my boys, Landon started his first year at school and is doing great. Hoping 2012 brings us as much luck, health, and happiness as 2011.

Last night Chris, the kids, and I all went out for supper for a nice prime rib dinner. The food was great - and even better the kids were good! They both sat nice and were quiet. My face didn't blush once! For those of you who know my five year old - he has a hard time NOT talking. We came home and all played Mario for about five hours, until it was time to countdown the New Year. Colton even decided to wake up thirty mins before midnight to bring in the New Year with us. Here are a few pics from last night:

Christmas

The kids and I had a busy Christmas Eve/Day. Our plans fell thru for Christmas Day, and at one o'clock on Christmas Eve the kids and I decided we would be driving to Minot, to spend Christmas day with Daddy, along with Grandma and Grandpa. I ran around getting everything packed up for the kids and I, while my mom got the food cooking. We hurried and opened presents, ate, and got the car packed. The kids and I ended up leaving home about 6:20 and drove over to Grandma and Grandpa's to pick them up and get on the road.
We got to Minot about Midnight. Daddy was thrilled to see everyone. We let the boys open their "Christmas PJ's" and we went to bed. It was a little different having Santa come to a hotel. Landon was happy Santa saw his note he left him, letting him know where he would be. Here is how our Christmas day went:  wake up, opened presents, ate our continental breakfast (which was actually pretty fancy, for a hotel), went swimming in the water park, ate our "truck stop" Christmas dinner, and headed home. We got home about 9:15 Christmas night. Even though it was a little hectic, we wouldn't have traded it for the world. I'm glad Chris got to spend Colton's first Christmas with him.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. Thank you again to my Mom and Tom for helping us get everything together, and getting us out the door - and to Gary and Sandy for coming with us and driving us over.

Naughty list...

This is what happens when you leave the room for 10 seconds....literally!

What a little stinker! I guess he didn't want to wait til Christmas?
